A new Netflix scam involving a fake website is targeting customers by leading them to phony customer service representatives, according to The Huffington Post.
Users will arrive at a fake website that looks similar to the Netflix login page. Once a Netflix user has entered their username and password, a notification alerts them that their account has been suspended. It then gives them a customer service phone number.
When users call the number, scammers recommend over the phone that they download a “Netflix support software” program, which gives scammers complete access to the user’s computer.
