Through this morning, Governor Beebe and his staff have been coordinating state efforts to help motorists stranded on Interstates 40 and 55 in East Arkansas, according to a news release put out today.

National Guard teams and Arkansas State Troopers are checking in on motorists to make sure there aren’t any health emergencies.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is helping to transport fuel to vehicles that may have run out of gas.

The Arkansas State Police have been working through the night to clear any damaged vehicles. Construction zones along both of the Interstates have exacerbated the backups and response delays.
