A deadly fire in LeFlore County has been ruled a double murder and suicide by the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

The fire occurred Monday outside of Whitesboro, Okla.

The three people who died in the fire have been identified by authorities as Edith Custard, 57, Lawrence Schlienz, 80, and Jacob Custard, 30.

"She was one of the kindest, generous people you'd probably ever meet," said Custard's daughter, Rebecca Custard McEntire.

In their investigation and through interviews, officials concluded that Custard killed his parents and then set the house fire, according to the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office.

"He loved his family and never talked bad about anybody and loved the outdoors," said McEntire, referring to her brother Jacob.

After setting the house on fire, he reportedly shot himself inside the residence, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Custard had a history of mental health issues and was no longer receiving professional  counseling or taking medication, deputies said.

"He was an intelligent guy. He joined the navy at a young age and traveled the United States," said McEntire, referring to her father Lawrence.

Authorities said the incident was the result of Custard's mental health issues.

Because the house was destroyed, the fire marshal was unable to determine the cause or origin of the fire.

The family said they are accepting donations to fund the funeral at Spiro Bank in Talihina.
