American Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing In Tulsa After Bird Strike

KOTV – An American Airlines jet bound for Dallas hit a bird while taking off from Tulsa International Airport and then made an emergency landing.

The bird hit one of the Boeing 757’s two engines. The crew immediately turned back and landed at the airport.

American Airlines flight 1491 took off on runway 8 at 10:31 a.m. on its way to DFW. Flights at TIA are using the east-west runway because the main north-south runways are under construction.

There were no reports of any injuries and the plane showed no obvious signs of damage on News On 6’s Osage SkyCam network.
