991 Lose Power In Lowell After Tree Falls On Line

Almost 1,000 customers in the Lowell area lost electricity early Tuesday afternoon after a tree fell on a power line, according to the Lowell Police Department.

The power line fell near the intersection of West Monroe Avenue and Bellview Street, police said. Southwest Electric Power Company reported 991 customers without power—838 in Benton County and 153 in Washington County in that area, according to the company’s power outage map.

The call about the downed tree came in to police around 12:30 p.m.
