Amanda Moore of Fayetteville was killed Saturday (March 22) afternoon in a motorcycle wreck in Fayetteville, authorities said.

The 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle driver, Michael Rogers, 46, also of Fayetteville, was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition, officials said on Sunday (March 23).

Rogers was driving the motorcycle north on Wilson Hollow Road at an "excessive speed," when the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, then went airborne and struck a tree, officials said.

Police said neither victims were wearing a helmet.

Emergency crews responded around 4 p.m. to Wilson Hollow after bystanders came across the deadly wreck.

It is unknown how long the wreckage had been along the roadway before the bystanders came along and reported it. There were no other vehicles reported to have also been involved in the fatal crash, according to Central EMS.

Roger's was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center before being air lifted to Mercy Emergency Trauma Center in Springfield, Missouri.

Moore's body was sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab in Little Rock to determine the cause of death, officials said. The investigation is continuing.
