First Thursday has been postponed to April 10th in Fayetteville. It was originally scheduled for Thursday (April 3).

Communication manager Jessica Leonard, with the Fayetteville Visitor's Bureau, said the original artwalk artists and musical acts may change based on availability.

The family-friendly event is an outdoor art walk with more than 40 visual artists. There are performances, poetry-related activities and live music. First Thursday is a free event on the Fayetteville Downtown Square.

Leonard said the amount of people who attend help the local economy.

"A lot of the stores stay open later and everyone is really great about getting in the spirit and participating,"  Leonard said.

"We have a lot of non-profits that come and set up booths, all the restaurants are packed.  We really feel like it brings a lot of people that wouldn't necessarily come on a week night," she said.

Leonard said they're moving and expanding the beer garden.

"This year we are moving the beer garden to the patio of the old post office so the kids zone will now be where the beer garden was last year on East Avenue," Leonard said. "Other than that we'll still have the art walk, the music stage will be bigger and better than ever and all of the great things are staying."

First Thursday starts in April and goes to October, during the First Thursday of every month. It starts at 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
