Theft Suspect Sought After Woman’s Purse Goes Missing

The Fort Smith Police Department is currently seeking a theft suspect after a woman left her purse inside a shopping cart and it went missing, according to a news release from Sgt. Daniel Grubbs.

On Wednesday (April 2), at approximately 1:50 p.m., a resident of Fort Smith unknowingly left her purse and its contents inside a shopping card at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Rogers Avenue.

When she returned, she found her purse had been taken. One week later, a few articles from the woman’s purse were located in the parking lot of Mercy Hospital, according to the news release.

Authorities are trying to identify the woman in the picture above because she is believed to have information regarding the theft.
