Crews extinguished a grass fire Friday afternoon that burned just west of Beaver Lake in Lowell, after flames spread across as many as seven acres.

The Hickory Creek Fire Department and forestry service crews responded around 3 p.m. to Cow Face Road, between Alto Road and Red Rock Road, in reference to a grass fire that was not threatening any structures, according to Benton County authorities.

Crews reported the flames had spread to around five to seven acres of land at the location. Firefighters said they had the fire under control by around 3:35 p.m., and were just putting out hot spots by that time.
