The Democratic Party of Washington County named a new election commissioner Monday, filling a spot that has been vacant since last month.
Max Deitchler was named the new election commissioner for Washington County. Deitchler is an attorney with Kutak Rock in Fayetteville. He is a native of Eureka Springs and a graduate of the Hendrix College and University of Arkansas law schools.
The position was vacated in March following the death of long-serving election commissioner John Logan Burrow.
