The National Weather Service has classifed the deadly tornado that hit Quapaw, Oklahoma, on Sunday as an EF-2 tornado.
The Enhanced Fujita Scale rates tornadoes on a scale of 0 to 5, with 5 being the worst, according to the National Weather Service.
A Baxter Springs, Kansas, man was traveling with his wife through the area when the tornado struck and knocked a concrete wall onto his car. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his wife was hospitalized and released, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office told our partner KOTV-6 out of Tulsa.
