A Fayetteville man was arrested after allegedly punching his roommate several times and breaking a bottle over his head, according to an arrest report.

Authorities went to an apartment complex on Sunday (April 27) at 1125 W End Ave. after receiving a call about a possible battery case, according to the report.

They spoke to the victim who stated that his roommate, Michael Mclarty, 21, came home from being out all night, and while the victim was bent over the sink, Mclarty punched him several times on top of his head and face, according to the report.

After punching the victim, Mclarty allegedly grabbed a bottle and broke it over the victim’s head, causing several cuts on the victim’s head and shoulder, according to the report.

Mclarty then fled the scene in the victim’s 2008 Chevy Silverado pickup truck without permission, according to the report.

On Monday (April 28), an officer went to Washington Regional Medical Center to transport the victim back to his home. When they arrived, the officer found Mclarty there and placed him under arrest.

Mclarty was taken to the Fayetteville Police Department where he reportedly gave several miscellaneous confessions during an interview, according to the report.

He was later booked into the Washington County Detention Center and faces charges of aggravated assault and domestic battery, 3rd degree.
