Microsoft has released a patch for a bug in their web browser, Internet Explorer.

The patch was even released for the discontinued Windows XP, according to a report from CNET.

The patch was delivered at 10 a.m. on Thursday (May 1), according to CNET. The bug affected Internet Explorer versions six through eleven. It allowed attackers to install malicious software on any user’s computer without permission that could be used to steal personal data and more, according to CNET.
