Records Broken at 7A West Conference Championship Meet

The 7A West Track and Field Conference Championships were held, and a few records were broke in Thursdays competition.

The 7A West High School Track and Field Conference Championships were held Thursday, and not without some excitement.

The Bentonville boys and girls team both came out on top at conferences champs. The Bentonville Girls 4x100M relay team set a conference record.

But they weren't the only ones. Brandon Workman of Rogers High School broke the conference record in triple jump, and Payton Stumbaugh of Har-Ber also broke some records. Stumbaugh set records in the 200M dash and both the 100M and 300M hurdles.

Stumbaugh is a senior and will be running at the University of Oklahoma next year.

“Well my dad's been my coach since 7th grade,” Stumbaugh said. “I listen to everything he says because clearly he knows what he's doing and he's made me who I am today. I wanted to break some of my records, and I wanted to break some records that were set that I knew I could break. So, I just attacked it and did my best today.”
