Two suspects are in custody after a fake threat was reported Thursday morning against LeFlore School, according to LeFlore County Sheriff Rob Seale.

Two fifth grade boys were taken into custody for calling in a false 911 call, according to Seale. The juveniles went before a judge Thursday afternoon; both could face charges for making a false 911 report.

Seale said the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Thursday morning (April 30) from a child, indicating something bad would happened at the school and authorities needed to respond.

The Sheriff’s Office tried contacting the school, but there was no answer. The Sheriff’s Office then dispatched deputies to the school. Choctaw Tribal Police and Oklahoma High Patrol also responded.

An investigator later found out the school secretary was out of the office.

After the school was cleared, investigators met with school administrators and discovered the 911 call came from a student’s cell phone.

The boy that allegedly made the call was sent to a juvenile detention facility. His next court date is May 27.

The other child was sent home with his parents, while the District Attorney reviews the case.
