Overcoming paperwork issues that sank an initial attempt, Sedexo Operations has submitted an application to state officials to allow alcohol sales at Razorback Stadium, according to a list of new applications from the state Department of Finance’s Alcoholic Beverage Control.

A list of new applicants released by ABC includes an application from Nolan Hurley and Sedexo Operations, LLC, to serve alcohol at a “large attendance facility” at 350 N. Razorback Road, the site of the University of Arkansas’ football stadium.

Sodexo is the school’s concessionaire partner.

A state alcohol official said last month the stadium’s permit process was delayed because of an issue with missing paperwork, a common problem among some applicants. The application has since been re-submitted.

Movement by ABC on applications is usually delayed by at least a month while officials consider public concern and other issues, meaning the ABC Board could make a decision on the application at its June meeting. The board typically meets the third Wednesday of each month, which would put next month’s meeting on June 18.

In addition to a “large attendance facility,” the application also includes off-premises catering.

The university announced in February it would begin the legal process necessary to allow beer and wine sales to club seat holders during Arkansas football games. Athletics Director Jeff Long said at the time that he hopes for the permit to be approved in time for the 2014 football season.

Purchases would be available in the east indoor club, south indoor club and the indoor dining area of the south outdoor club. The University of Arkansas will become the eighth institution in the Southeastern Conference where alcohol is made available in stadium club areas for an on-campus sporting event, if the application is approved.

Fans in the sky boxes already may stock their own suites with food and beverages, including alcohol. However, they cannot purchase the beer and wine, supplied by Sodexo, to be delivered to their suite.
