Students in Fayetteville were temporarily held up Wednesday afternoon while police searched for a potential shooter near Carlsbad Terrace.
Police said they received several calls mid-afternoon about a possible shooting near Carlsbad. Officers did not find any evidence of a shooting, but police temporarily had the Fayetteville School District halt its buses in the area while officers investigated, said Sgt. Craig Stout.
The buses were halted for 10 to 15 minutes, and no suspect was ever found, Stout said. No evidence was ever found that a shooting had occurred.
