Wednesdays’ decision from the Supreme Court has left many Arkansas same-sex couples hopeful, for now.

Jennifer Rambo and Kristin Seaton are the first same-sex couple in the state of Arkansas to receive a marriage license. Saturday May 10 2014 at 10:30 a.m. the two made history in Carroll county.

“It`s a great feeling that they went ahead and ruled ahead against the stay,” Rambo said.

Rambo and Seaton live in Fort Smith. They met at the University of Arkansas.

“This is a big deal,” Seaton said.

The couple received messages from across the world.

“West Hawaii calling us and London and Germany and we are just like wow little bitty old Arkansas.”

With that boost of hope concern still remains high on the validity of their marriage license.

“It would be heartbreaking,” Rambo said. “It would be devastating. It`s devastating thinking about it right now actually.”

Rambo and Seaton plan to marry this October.
