He was a part of a state championship team in high school at Van Buren, and Tyler Spoon's baseball dreams started out from a young age.

"This was my dream growing up, play for the razorbacks,” Spoon said. “And it's been everything I expected and more honestly."

But during his days playing little league, he never imagined he would actually be wearing an Arkansas uniform.

"I just always thought of these guys as, they were just something else. I looked up to them so much, and just now to be one of those guys is just kind of surreal. I just try not to take it for granted. So, I am here and I am trying to take advantage of it."

And taking advantage of it he has. Spoon has been a dominate force in right field leading his team in fielding percentage, but not only that has been a strong presence at bat for the Hogs. Spoon could easily be a major league recruit, but he says first things first.

"I would love to play pro ball, but at the same time you know I want to get my degree and finish school. So we'll see what happens. I’m not concerned about that right now. we got awhile until that happens. I’m going to worry about the Arkansas razorbacks right now, and whatever i can do for them."

Words that may be a dream come true for Hog fans.

So good to see local kids do good. Maybe he can get his degree and make it to the big leagues.
