A Washington County deputy who was recently fired is being investigated by the local Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Sheriff Tim Helder said Thursday.

Former Deputy Darren Morrow “committed acts contrary to Washington County Sheriff’s Office policy,” Helder said at a news conference.

The case was initially reported to Fayetteville police, who referred it to the task force after finding the case was not in their jurisdiction.

Morrow was a 21-year employee for the Sheriff’s Office. He is the third Washington County deputy to be fired or arrested in the last month. Read more about those cases here and here.
