The Northwest Arkansas Pride Parade is set for June 14, according to a news release Wednesday (May 28).

The line-up starts at 8 a.m., and the parade starts at 10 a.m., according to a news release. The starting point has been set in the parking lot behind Club Push on 21 N. Block Ave. in Fayetteville.

The theme for this year’s parade will be “United We Stand! Change is Coming!”

Leading the parade as grand marshals are: Sharon Wibben, Bruce Gillispie, Jason Viator, Sandy King and David Yates. These people were chosen by the board because they are Walmart Pride Leaders that influenced their company’s decision to implement Domestic Partner Benefits and other LGBT policies, according to the release.

Hey conservatives—based on the news story you’ve been extended an invitation.

Are you going to go or are you afraid to show your pride?

      • Octonaut

Ah, the curmudgeonly intolerant “Left”. Bashes “Conservatives” while preaching about tolerance and unity of their own lifestyle. Hypocrite.

I LOVE IT~I am a straight woman who has been happily married for 11 years.

I WILL be there to support the parade.

Sounds like its goning to be a saucy event!

Think we will see any of the republican candidates show up to meet and greet the crowd??

I imagine this will go over like a lead baloon.

I do not hate them. my teacher taught me I must be free from sin or at least perfect to judge another, therefore , I endeavor to become perfect in as many ways a I can, even as i strive i have much to do to worry about than gays and lesbians, as long as u are not hurting anyone ,why should another judge u. but many will judge the book, just by the cover , and not even attempting to read or look at the pictures. many have eyes but only see what they want,as they only see in black and white, many have eyes that help them understand words and meanings and therefore see colours, yet so many are left in the dark.would a blind person judge what they cannot see? or would they try to understand and comprehend the greater picture. God hates no one, he showed love by allowing his son to be betrayed ,ridiculed, and killed. but three days of darkness followed. what is a good christian, besides just goin to church…. becoming alike the teacher, and understanding his parables, and try to understand LOVE, in its many shapes and forms, without judgment. If you have hate or judgment in your heart, pluck it out.

I will be there. Friendly people and accepting as they can be. We are very supportive of all of our family and friends.

The Southern Baptist Convention held a gathering of pastors at its Nashville headquarters in April 2014.  For an organization that has previously used opposition to companion marriage as a rallying point, statements from church leaders shocked the auditorium of pastors into silence.

“If you spent 20 years and you’ve never said anything about divorce in the church culture, then shut up about this type of marriage,” said Kevin Smith a prominent Kentucky minister.

“So the door is always open and the lights on in the hall, and you know you’re always welcome when you finally come to call”.

Hopefully the harsh rhetoric will end by our southern churches.

  • my knees are not bruised from prayer

Is it the people you hate, or is it the sin and life choices you hate?
We all have sin, and we all have choices. The best way to make changes is down on knees in prayer, there you will be pleading for mercy with the one who gives mercy.Standing shouting will only prove that you did not read the fine print , or the red print…If you want a change, change yourself to commit to more hours and time in prayer for them. I do believe he told us that he was the Judge.

Shall I list all the parades, rodeos, football players and their teams, and the list goes on, etc. that companion’s are made to feel unwelcome? Some pizza places?
What are people afraid of? Do tell? When you look at bullying statistics, as well as suicides among young people, there is a correlation of discovering they prefer companions rather than the opposite. Yet they have listened to the blistering attacks and conversation within their own homes and make a choice to end it all so they never embarrass their beloved parents.

It isn’t catching like the flu.

I can’t believe we’re actually going to allow a parade to support imorality. Slice it any way you like, when you are waving your sins in front of the entire public and shouting how PRIDFUL you are for your sins…it makes my stomache ache. Bibles should be handed out to each and every one of them at their finish line.

    • Fact Checker 101

HE would love them all. HE doesn’t pick and choose the way you do. Maybe you should read THE GOOD BOOK instead of making derogatory statements.
“Ye who are without sin, cast the first stone”.

Take some TUMS for your stomach ache. Get well soon.
