CBS News – An intoxicated man who allegedly began shooting into a crowd at a Georgia rodeo was subdued by a cowboy’s lasso, CBS Atlanta reports.
Celestino Moras was reportedly drunk when he became agitated at the annual church picnic and rodeo in Bartow County when he allegedly pulled out a pistol and began firing at the nearly 300 guests in attendance.
Four people were injured after Moras, 25, allegedly drew his weapon following requests from multiple people to leave the show, deputies told CBS Atlanta.
Three people were shot, ranging from the lower body to the neck, according to police. And a fourth person was cut on the hand with a knife, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. All four were released from area hospitals.
A second man allegedly fired gunshots, but that individual has not yet been identified.
After Moras ran out of bullets, a rodeo cowboy lassoed him as other guests beat him down and tied him up until deputies arrived.
Moras was treated for facial injuries before being taken to jail on aggravated assault charges. He was also held on a possible immigration violation.
The incident happened May 25, one week ago Sunday.
As for the cowboy who lassoed the suspect, we’re pretty sure it wasn’t his first rodeo.
