Fort Smith Bomb Squad Responds To Suspicious Backpack

The Fort Smith Bomb Squad was dispatched Tuesday (June 3) to deal with a suspicious backpack, according to Sgt. Daniel Grubbs with the Fort Smith Police Department.

The bomb squad responded to a backpack left behind in the 500 block of South 20th Street near the Fort Smith Adult Education Center, Grubbs said.

No injuries were reported, and the situation was cleared. No explosives were found in the backpack, according to Grubbs.
