A Fayetteville driver loses control of his car and crashes into Ay Caramba Mexican restaurant on Lindell Ave. at 6:20 a.m.
Sgt. Craig Stout said Chris Hill, of Fayetteville, was cited for reckless driving and failure to maintain control.
Hill was traveling eastbound on Wedington Drive at a high speed, according to Stout. When he got to Garland Avenue, he hit and bent his suspension on an elevation dip, according to Stout. He lost control of his 2001 Toyota Celica and flipped it on its side, Stout said.
The road was wet during the accident, police said.
The crash damaged the restaurant’s patio and a street sign. Stout said he will be financially responsible for the damage.
Hill suffered some scrapes and abrasions and was taken to the hospital as precaution, Stout said.
