Number Of Officers Killed In Line Of Duty Rises

According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial fund 63 officers have died on the job since June 15th of last year.

Reports show that is a 37 percent increase from the previous year. The cause of the increase shows to be related to gun violence and traffic incidents.

The sudden increase comes after nearly two years of decline in officers killed in the line of duty.

2013 marked the lowest number of deaths on duty since 1959 with only 111 deaths for the entire year.
