True Grit 100 Mile Ride

Ben Garen Park hosted the Third Annual True Grit Ride today.

The ride covers 100 miles of scenic routes that starts in Fort Smith and goes through Oklahoma and end right back in Fort Smith.

Organizers of the ride say they have volunteers posted at every ten miles along the course to make sure cyclist are okay.

Many of the riders rode are 100 miles, however there were a few that opted for the shorter courses.

The event raises money the Community Services Clearinghouse.  It's a non-profit organization that which provides emergency assistance to families and children in need throughout seven counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Organizers say they had over 200 to participate in the event.

    Journalism. Above? Not so much. My God people take some pride and care in your work. “Many of the riders rode are 100 miles?”. What the he## is that? How about “Many of the cyclists completed the 100 mile course while others opted for shorter courses which were also available. Crack a book!
