Man Hits Deer

A Franklin County woman was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer on Monday (June 23) at 11:41 a.m., according to a fatal crash report from the Arkansas State Police.

Sharla Shirley, 36, of Branch, was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler west on AR 22 near Charleston when her vehicle left the road and traveled into a ditch, then entered back onto the road, crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer, the report states.

The Jeep Wrangler was left tipped over on its passenger side in the roadway, according to the report.

The weather was clear at the time of the accident, the report states. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
