The heavy rains Wednesday (June 25) cancelled some of the Pro-Am games at the Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship Presented by P and G.  The golf course maintenance suffered slightly, according to Chase Turpin, golf course superintendent.

Turpin said the rain pushed back mowing. He said they were only able to get to the greens. He said if the sun continues today (June 26), it should dry out the course. His crew plans to mow the fairways, which haven't been touched in 24 hours.

Turpin said the only problems are the 9, 10 and 12 fairways and below the 18 green. However, he said, everything is "playable." It's just a little more wet that he prefers.
