Fayetteville Police said they responded to a bomb threat at the Walmart on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early Wednesday morning (July 2).
Dispatchers said an employee called to report the threat around 4 a.m., after finding a note written on a bathroom wall inside the store. The threat said that someone had a bomb, according to police.
All employees and shoppers who were inside the store at the time were evacuated as police did a sweep of the building. Authorities did give the all clear around 5:30 a.m. and allowed them back inside the building.
Fayetteville Police did not call the bomb squad to the scene, according to dispatchers.
The Walmart is now back open. The investigation into this morning's bomb threat is still under investigation. At this point, police have not identified any suspects and have not made any arrests.
