Police: Woman Cited After Her Dog “Chief” Went Days Without Food And Water

The Prairie Grove Police Department cited a woman on Wednesday (July 2) after they found a dog living inside the kennel pictured at right, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.

Courtney Pritchett, 22, of Prairie Grove was given a misdemeanor citation on suspicion of two counts of animal cruelty after police found a dog named Chief that hadn’t been given food or water in “quite some time,” according to authorities.

A cat named Shadow was also found inside the house in a similar condition, authorities say.

Officials said as of Thursday (July 3), both animals were “alive and well.”
