Country superstar Miranda Lambert took the stage at the AMP at 7:30 p.m. Saturday as part of her Platinum tour.

The gates opened at the Walmart AMP just after 6 p.m. Organizers said Saturday afternoon there were still lawn tickets available to see Lambert perform.

Opening for Lambert were the Swon Brothers and Rae-Lynn. Miranda Lambert is the fifth act to come to the new music pavilion since the first show with the superstar’s husband Blake Shelton on June 7.

The next show at the AMP will be on July 24 and will feature Steely Dan with special guest Bobby Broom.

Miranda was AWESOME as usual. She is so talented and a real rare gem in the genre. Girl power! The concert was great but they way over sold the concert. They brought in tons of port-a-potties and the lawn was absolutely packed. They released too tickets today for no reason- it was already soldout.

Ridiculously over-sold! Miranda was great but come on people! What were you thinking releasing that many tickets? Uncomfortable, jam packed, no room to walk to a restroom, people trampled all over everyone around them. Never again!! Was safety not even a concern?? If there had been ANY need to evacuate, it would have ended in fatalities. I’m sorry but releasing more tickets to an already sold out croud was sheer stupidity and greed. And don’t even get me started on the parking/exit cluster…
