FORT SMITH (KFSM) – The Fort Smith Police Department is investigating a theft case, in which, a woman’s car was broken into on July 14 while she shopped at X-Mart, according to a news release Thursday (July 17).

The incident happened at 12:45 p.m. at the X-Mart store located at 3800 Century Dr., the release states.

The victim, shopping with her friend, came outside and found her passenger-side window shattered, according to the release.

A purse and Garmin GPS unit were reported stolen from inside the locked vehicle, the release states.

The victim told police that she and her friend were the only customers present at the store during the time of the incident, according to the release.

“While shopping, a young couple in their early 20’s entered the store briefly and left without making a purchase.  Shortly after the young couple left, the victim(s) left the store and discovered their vehicle’s window shattered and property taken,” the release states.

The couple, pictured at right and below, is being sought by police because they may have information or be a witness to the crime, according to the release.

Anyone with information on their identity is encouraged to call the Fort Smith Police Department at 479-709-5126 or dial 78-CRIME.

Wow if they have nothing to do with this crime, I bet they love having their mug sent out for all to see where they shop! If they do not have anything to do with this, I smell a lawsuit…privacy.

It doesn’t matter if they had anything to do with it or not. The couple in question is being sought for questioning because they may have been a witness to the crime. Why be ashamed of where they are shopping? They’re legal adults shopping in an adult store. Get over it.

Hondo is an idiot. If you think you have privacy in this day and age you need to wake up. Oh, by the way, I love X-mart!
