FORT SMITH (KFSM) – A Sebastian County inmate was pronounced dead Saturday (July 19th) morning, according to a news release.

The release says Amanda Potter, 39, was found unresponsive in the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center at around 4 a.m. EMS arrived on the scene to transport Potter to the Sparks Hospital Emergency Room where at 4:45 a.m. doctors pronounced her dead, according to the document.

She arrived at the detention center on Friday (July 18th) night after being arrested for several warrants. They include two “failed to appear” warrants for Sebastian County and another warrant for Crawford County, according a Sebastian County Jail official.

Potter’s body has been sent to an Arkansas State Crime lab for an autopsy.

Arkansas State Police are leading the investigation, and they say it remains active.

Since they admit they’ve had her before they knew her history just like everyone else who has died there they r suppose to check once a hour at least. She was arrested at four pm the following afternoon so I will leave it at that
