28th Annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races

HEBER SPRINGS (KFSM) - The 28th annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races were held at Sandy Beach in Heber Springs on Saturday (July 27).

The theme for this year's event was, 'Wild & Wacky and Downright Crazy.'

Boats of all shapes and sizes made of cardboard competed for speed and design. Awards were given to the most creative team and boat, the boat that floated the best, as well as the best and most dramatic sinking.

Other activities included a treasure dig, watermelon eating contest and a volleyball tournament.
