ROGERS (KFSM) - From shooting arrows to tying flies, Cabela's Archery Classic gave families the opportunity to expand their horizons in hunting and fishing over the weekend.

Dozens of families in Northwest Arkansas showed up to the event. It was held at the store's Rogers location on July 26 and 27.

"This is the archery classic, it's gearing up those hunters," said Steven Fuller of Cabela's. "We've got events going on throughout the store."

People who attended were able to enjoy seminars on topics such as making their own jerky, how to take trophy photos, or women’s archery. There was also a trail camera photo contest; the winners received gift cards.

"The kids absolute love it," Fuller said. "We are very geared towards the kids, so we try and have as many kid activities as we can."

"They were just telling me all the basic stuff, like how to pull back and draw back," said Tyler Hellard, an attendee at the event. "You know, just having fun and shooting targets."
