CENTERTON (KFSM) – The owner of Moxy the dog, also known as Tinkerbelle, has had a court date set this month, officials say.

The dog is with a foster family in Centerton and is “doing well,” according to officials. She is gaining weight and is growing her hair back, officials said.

The owner, who has not been identified, is set to be arraigned in court on Aug. 19 after being cited on suspicion of failure to seek medical attention for the dog, officials said.

Animal caretaker DJ Ritchie said the dog was found earlier in July with open wounds and no collar in the Appleridge neighborhood in Centerton. Animal control officers said a neighbor reportedly found the eight-year-old rat terrier with fireworks strapped to her torso.

The neighbor said she went inside to call authorities and the dog wandered next door. Her next door neighbor called officials to come pick up the badly injured dog, officials said.
