BENTONVILLE (KFSM) – A Bentonville murder suspect accused of killing his grandmother pleaded not guilty to a capital murder charge at his arraignment on Monday (Aug. 11) in Benton County Circuit Court.

Michael Conklin, 26, was arrested on July 26 and booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of stabbing his 76-year-old grandmother, Nelma Darline Conklin, to death.

At his arraignment before Judge Robin Green, the suspect was given an Oct. 6 trial date.

In addition to the capital murder charge, Conklin is charged with aggravated robbery, according to court documents. He also pleaded not guilty to the second charge.
