SHADY POINT, OKLA. - Authorities said one person has been hospitalized and is undergoing surgery after being shot in Shady Point.

Shady Point Police Chief Keith James said the shooting happened at a home on Reagan Street after 11 p.m. Sunday night (Aug 10).

Authorities said they were first dispatched out to the scene for a domestic disturbance call between a father and his stepson. "They went to the ground and the firearm discharged," said James.

Once they were on scene, they found the stepson had been shot. He had a bullet wound on the right-side of his rib cage, according to James.

His mom took him to All-Star Bowl where authorities had called in a helicopter to transport him to a Tulsa-area hospital.

Authorities said the stepson is undergoing surgery at the hospital for his injuries. It is unclear what his condition is at this time.

The father was arrested and questioned about the shooting, according to Chief James. However, at this point, the case is still under investigation, and James said no charges have been filed.

"I've been called there on several occasions along with some of the other deputies," said James.
