FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – City leaders are breaking ground on a new Whole Foods Market going up on North College Avenue in Fayetteville Wednesday morning (Aug. 13). The ceremony is slated to start at 10 a.m.

Officials said the organic supermarket store will employ 140 full-time workers at a wage of $40,000 per year, once construction is complete. It’s also expected to bring Fayetteville between $800,000 and $1.3 million in tax revenue every year, according to city aldermen.

In addition to the Whole Foods Market, there are plans to include a 3,000 square foot restaurant and room for close to 24,000 square feet of shops.

According to the developer’s web site, the College Marketplace area is scheduled to open Fall of 2015.
