GREENWOOD(KFSM) - Teachers with the Greenwood School District will be honored tonight (August 14) during the annual Teacher Appreciation Banquet.
The all-day event is put on by the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes, donated by over 50 different area businesses and sponsors, will be raffled away to teachers.
"Considering how many hours they put in as teachers, Everyone needs to be lifted up and appreciated and I think it's just a great start to a school year, which will no doubt have it's difficulties but this shows them that we care, " said Chamber Director Doris Tate.
Around 350 teachers are expected to attend the event, which begins at 11:30 a.m.
