SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – The Springdale Police Department arrested a man on suspicion of sexual assault, according to a news release on Thursday (Aug. 14).
William Fernando Garcia-Merlos, 35, of Springdale was arrested after police said an investigation revealed he had been inappropriately touching a girl for years, the release states.
Garcia-Merlos started touching the 14-year-old girl when she was eight years old, according to the release.
He was interviewed by detectives, and he admitted to touching her while performing a sex act, the release states.
Garcia-Merlos was booked into the Washington County Detention Center and faces a charge of second-degree sexual assault, according to the release.
