CENTERTON (KFSM) – The owner of the injured Centerton dog Moxy, also known as Tinkerbelle, appeared in court on Tuesday (Aug. 19), officials say.

Doug Crawford entered a not guilty plea in Centerton District Court before Judge Jeff Conner, according to officials.

His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 9, officials said.

Animal caretaker DJ Ritchie said the dog was originally found in July with open wounds and no collar in the Appleridge neighborhood in Centerton. Animal control officers said a neighbor reportedly found the eight-year-old rat terrier with fireworks strapped to her torso.

The dog, being cared for by a foster family in Centerton, is gaining weight and is recovering from the injuries, officials said.
