Gravette Senator Headed To Air Base In Middle East For Duty

State Sen. Jim Hendren, R-Gravette, is headed overseas next month for duty at an air base in Qatar.

Hendren, an aviator who serves in the Missouri Air National Guard, is set to leave Sept. 2 and is expected to return at the end of October, he said. Hendren is a  lieutenant colonel with the 157th Air Operations Group headquartered in St. Louis.

Working from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Hendren will serve in a combat operations role, helping manage the air war in that region.
