Street Reopens After House Catches Fire In Fort Smith

FORT SMITH (KFSM) – North O Street in Fort Smith has reopened after being closed due to a house fire on Wednesday morning (Aug. 27).

Both lanes of North O Street were shut down while crews investigated the house fire.

Battalion Chief Mark Talley said the fire started around 7:15 a.m., and crews at the house said the fire started in the kitchen.

One woman was inside the house when it started. She escaped safely, according to officials.

The house was damaged in the fire, and crews are still assessing the extent of the damage.
