ROGERS (KFSM)- The War Eagle Mill is inviting Ronnie Gibbons, a local singer, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to play country and folk music.

Liz Kapsner, sales and marketing coordinator, said they want to honor and celebrate all the hard working people in our communities.

They'll have lunch specials at the Bean Palace Restaurant inside the mill.

The mill dates back to the 1830s and it's been rebuilt three times.

They've been grinding fresh and organic grain with their water-powered mill since 1832.

"We grind whole grain and organic grain into flours and mixes." Kapsner said. "Then we use all of those products in our Bean Palace Restaurant so people get to eat older time corn bread, grits and a course meal."

"It's a little different than shopping at a grocery store," she said.

The area surrounding the mill includes fishing and playing at the War Eagle Creek and site-seeing the historic War Eagle Bridge.

"A lot of people tend to come because of the history, a way to learn about the mill and the War Eagle Valley in general," Kapsner said. "There are other activities around the mill too."

"There's the War Eagle Cavern and Hobbs State Park so you can go hiking," she said. "So you can fill up on food, learn about the mill and do some shopping but you can also explore."

Breakfast at the Bean Palace Restaurant starts at 8:30 a.m. and lunch starts at 11 a.m.
