CRAWFORD COUNTY (KFSM) - A Clarksville who woman was taken from a rollover accident on Interstate 49 on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 4) by helicopter has died, authorities say.
Sue Watson, 71, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer south when her vehicle's tire tread separated, causing her to lose control and travel off the right shoulder of the roadway, overturning, according to authorities.
Watson was the only person involved in the accident that left her car on its side in the shoulder of the southbound lane of Interstate 49 near Rudy, according to authorities.
The interstate was temporarily shut down while EMS workers pulled her from the vehicle, stabilized her and waited for the helicopter to arrive and take her to a hospital, authorities said.
The accident happened at 3:12 p.m., according to authorities.
She was taken to Sparks Regional Medical Center where she later died, according to authorities.
