Rogers Man Charged With Kidnapping

ROGERS (KFSM) – A Rogers man appeared in U.S. Magistrate Court on Friday (Sept. 5) and was charged with kidnapping, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas.

Jose Garcia-Chavez, 26, was charged with kidnapping after authorities said he kidnapped someone on May 19 and took the victim from Arkansas to Missouri.

U. S. Attorney Eldridge commented, “We remain dedicated to prosecuting violent crimes – including kidnapping – throughout the Western District of Arkansas. These crimes threaten our communities, and our job is to work together to hold those who commit these crimes accountable. . ..”

The case is being investigated by the Rogers Police Department, Bentonville Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Harris is prosecuting the case, the release states.

Garcia-Chavez was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Erin Seter, according to the release.
