FORT SMITH (KFSM) – The Fort Smith Hampton Inn was bought from its Texas-based owner by a Fort Smith real estate company on Tuesday (Sept. 9), according to a news release.

The hotel is at 6201-C Rogers Ave. and was previously owned by Summit Hotel Group, a company based out of Austin, Texas, the release states.

On Tuesday, the hotel was bought by Storm Nolan and Kane Whitt of SCK Hotels, a Fort Smith based real estate investment company, according to the release.

The Hampton Inn was purchased for $8.8 million, and Summit Hotel Group had originally listed it for $12 million, the release states.

The hotel will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation that will include the guest rooms and hotel exterior. The renovation is scheduled to wrap up by the end of 2015, according to the release.

Hampton Inn is the highest-grossing hotel in Fort Smith, the release states.
