FAYETTEVILLE [KFSM] - The 15th annual Bikes, Blues and BBQ took over Northwest Arkansas Sep. 24-27, bringing in a few hundred thousand visitors to the area to participate in the rally.

"It went exceptionally well, this is the biggest and best rally we've ever had," Director Joe Giles said.

He said based on how crowded every venue was the entire week, he estimates that attendance was up by 10-15%. Giles said by Friday, vendors were running out of drinks and ice.

"We got more order yesterday and then last night we had to reorder again," Giles said.

Springdale resident Beverly Charleton said she understands that most locals feel like the area is overran with visitors. She said she knows people that leave town for a few days during the rally.

"I know that it's just a little noisy and a little crowded, but it's good for our area and I'm glad they have it," Charleton said.

Johnson resident Jacqueline King said she enjoys having the rally in Northwest Arkansas, and said she likes the events that community members can attend.

"It's always a lot of fun, to come down and watch the parade,  and even if you're just out and about, to watch the bikers, they're very interesting," King said.

King said she thought having events at Baum Stadium, Arvest Ballpark and downtown helped keep the congestion under control.

"I think they did a good job having various locations for all of the activities," King said.

Highlights of the 2014 rally include live music at the beer gardens on Dickson Street, a vintage motorcycle show and car show at Arvest, a parade, a barbeque competition at the Washington County Fairgrounds and Harley Davidson demo rides.
