MOORE, OKLA. (KFSM) – A man accused in the beheading of a woman at a food processing plant in Moore, Okla. is set to appear before a judge Monday (Sept. 29).

Officers at the Moore Police Department say charges against Alton Alexander Nolen will include first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Nolen was fired from a food processing plant last Thursday (Sept. 25). Officers said he returned hours later with a knife and attacked the first people he saw.

Authorities said he beheaded Colleen Hufford, 54, and then went on to attack 43-year-old Traci Johnson. She was treated for numerous wounds at an area hospital and has been released.

The FBI is now involved and further looking into Nolen’s background after his former co-workers came forward and  said he tried to convert them to Islam after converting to the religion himself.

The FBI is also working closely with the Moore Police Department throughout their investigation.

At this time, it is not known if the suspect’s religious beliefs played a role in the attack.
